Privacy Policy

General information

This privacy policy is intended to inform users of this website about the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data by the website operator Bavarian Starlights.

The website operator takes your data protection very seriously and treats your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory requirements. As new technologies and the continuous development of this website may result in changes to this privacy policy, we recommend that you read the privacy policy again at regular intervals.

Definitions of the terms used (e.g. "personal data" or "processing") can be found in Art. 4 GDPR.

Access data

We, the website operator or page provider, collect data on access to the website on the basis of our legitimate interest (see Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR) and store this data as "server log files" on the website's server. The following data is logged in this way:

  • Website visited
  • Time of access
  • Amount of data sent in bytes
  • Source/reference from which you arrived at the page
  • Browser used
  • Operating system used
  • IP address used

The server log files are stored for a maximum of 7 days and then deleted. The data is stored for security reasons, e.g. to be able to investigate cases of misuse. If data needs to be retained for evidentiary reasons, it is exempt from deletion until the incident has been finally clarified.

Collection and processing of personal data

The website operator only collects, uses and discloses your personal data if this is permitted by law or if you consent to the collection of data.

Personal data is any information that serves to determine your identity and that can be traced back to you – for example, your name and e-mail address.

You can visit this website without providing any personal information. However, in order to improve our online offering, we store your access data to this website (without any reference to your person). This access data includes, for example, the file you requested or the name of your internet provider. Anonymising the data makes it impossible to draw any conclusions about your person.

E-mail addresses

All e-mail correspondence with e-mail addresses ending in "bavarian-starlights.com" is stored for business purposes (Art. 6 (1) b) and f) GDPR). It is deleted once the statutory retention periods have expired.

Use of Google Maps

Our "Directions (with Google Maps)" page uses the Google Maps mapping service. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

To ensure data protection on our website, Google Maps is disabled by default. A direct connection to Google's servers is only established once you activate Google Maps yourself, thereby giving your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR.

Once activated, Google Maps will store your IP address. This is generally then transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA. We have no influence over this data transfer.

Further information on the handling of user data can be found in Google's privacy policy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.

User rights

As a user, you have the right, upon request, to obtain free information about the personal data stored about you. You also have the right to have incorrect data corrected and to have your personal data restricted or deleted. Where applicable, you may also assert your right to data portability. Should you believe that your data has been processed unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

Deletion of data

Provided that your wish does not conflict with a statutory obligation to retain data (e.g. data retention), you are entitled to have your data deleted. Data stored by us will be deleted once it is no longer required for its intended purpose and there are no statutory retention periods. If deletion cannot be carried out because the data is required for permissible statutory purposes, processing of the data is restricted instead. In this case, the data is blocked and not processed for other purposes.

Right of objection

Users of this website may exercise their right of objection and object to the processing of their personal data at any time.

If you would like to request the correction, blocking, deletion of or information about the personal data stored about you, or if you have any questions regarding the collection, processing or use of your personal data, or would like to revoke consent already given, please contact the address given in the Imprint.
